About

Mission, principles, non-goals.

Mission

Make FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS shipping, and IMO CII obligations computable, reproducible, and reconcilable to the exact euro from public regulator data. Treat “same euro figure across two independent code paths against a public regulator dataset” as the only credible methodology claim.

Principles

  • Refuse before approximating. If the engine cannot ground a number in a regulation citation, it refuses to emit the number. There is no “estimated based on fleet averages” mode.
  • Reconcile, do not benchmark. We do not publish benchmark numbers against in-house spreadsheets. We publish reconciliation against EMSA THETIS-MRV.
  • Cite the article. Every regulatory constant carries its Official Journal or IMO resolution reference inline.
  • Single source of truth on numbers. Every figure on this marketing site comes from src/lib/reconciliation-data.ts, regenerated by the engine’s proof run. No hand-typed totals.
  • Honest scope. See /compliance and the home-page “What Provenship does not do” section.

Non-goals

  • We are not pursuing verifier accreditation in v1 or v2.
  • We are not building a voluntary carbon credit marketplace.
  • We are not building a bunker procurement broker.
  • We are not building voyage or weather routing.

What we will not do on this site

  • Founder photos or a “team” page. Credibility is methodology, not faces.
  • Customer logo strip with no public reference. We will list customers only with their written consent and verifiable contracts.
  • Third-party analytics. No GA, no Plausible, no PostHog.
  • Tracking cookies. None set on this site.
